Hello everybody!  Even though the website hasn't been going all the time, I have!  I'm still making music around town and working on some cd's!  I've been lucky enough to sit in with Mucho Buddha for some live performances and sang back-up on their cd, Dragonfly.  Go to MuchoBuddha.com to give a listen, order cd's, and catch a couple of photos of me!
I've been playing a lot in Rio Rancho, have a new monthly gig at Rio Rancho's coolest coffee house, Tazza Coffee, and try to get down to the Smokehouse whenever I can!  The greatest thing is that now I have Scott Agrusa backing me up on percussion as often as possible!  As they say, "it's always better with Bongos!"  Okay, I don't know if anybody ever said that before, but it's true!  Check out the gigs page to find out my calendar or contact me to get added to the mailing list!

Happy New Year; Gung Hey Fat Choy!
EXCUSE # 4 FOR SINGING SAD SONGS: (a quote from Odetta) "the blues is celebration, because when you take sorrow and turn it into music, you transform it."
I've been thinking a lot about peace lately, but then again, I guess I'm not the only one.
Thank you to my brother and a good friend for saying a simple sentence that ended up shaking me up a bit.
If this is your first time at the website, and you like what you hear, please, spread the word!

Happy Thanksgiving! I'm quite reved for the holidays this year: After T-day, only a few more weeks and I travel to Washington state to visit the folks! I'll be making a side trip to Portland, as well, and I'm really looking forward to it! If you haven't already, please share the cd and website with all of your friends. And I do recommend Harry Potter #2!

To quote a Christine Lavin song, "The Dakota":
"Too many good men have been cut down. Let's pray there won't be any more."

Hi all! I have safely returned from the Grand Canyon trek! This was the most wonderful Grand Canyon trip ever! I found out the thing to do is put in your hiking request, and then if you don't get what you want, you call until they give you what you want or you don't go at all. What originally was going to be an insane survival trip turned into a really nice vacation. We started down from the North Rim on the North Kaibab trail and stopped for two nights at Cottonwood campground, where we were visited by two pink rattlers and some mice and bats. From Cottonwood, we day-hiked to Ribbon Falls. Beautiful, beautiful. Then we moved from Cottonwood to Bright Angel Campground (at Phantom Ranch). We had two nights there, and I discovered that Phantom had a communal guitar, so I performed at the bottom of the Grand Canyon, y'all! How many people do you know who've done that? Thankfully, the scorpions minded their own business and the lean-to warded off the rain, so we then hiked halfway up Bright Angel Trail and stopped for a night at Indian Gardens campground. This gave us an opportunity to see the sunset from the point. Then we hiked out the next day. This is the first Canyon trip that I have been in virtually no pain! And I was energetic and could walk easily when I was finished hiking it! The total rim to rim mileage was 23, but if you add in the day hikes we were probably closer to 29. Six days without a shower. A shower is truly a glorious thing. Thanks to Hugh, the volunteer at Cottonwood who loaned us a tent on a very rainy night, and thanks to all our fellow hikers who made the trip so much fun-- especially David & Robin from New Jersey, and the crew from Denver- Jan and Rebecca. To Joel and Sharon from St. Louis, Hooray! You all made it and you survived! We were very worried about you! Thanks also to the beautiful lady who gave me a $5 tip for my music at the Phantom Ranch Canteen! Anyway, this trip was a lot of fun. I only had the beginnings of heat exhaustion one day, but I ate and drank a lot and recovered within an hour & a half. If you've never hiked the Grand Canyon, take this advice: It is incredibly hard, even for people in very good shape. Do what the rangers tell you to do. Keep your pack as light as possible, and stay in one place for more than one night as much as possible. That's the only way to really enjoy it! (I say this after two trips that can only be described as survival trips!) Also, God bless the person who invented hiking polls. That was what saved my knees and hips from serious pain! I'll post photos as soon as I can!

The CD Release Party was a great success! Thanks to everyone who came, I really had a terrific time, and it was nice to see neighbors, friends, and family, as well as long-lost friends. Mom flew in from out of state to help me out with it, and we've been touristing around the area this week, having a good time. I found out at the party that I do have the skills to make a great Cafe Mocha! Anyway, thanks again to everyone. Incidentally, if you'd like to be on the mailing list, send me an email with your information, and I'll be happy to put you on it!
